GATLINBURG
Gatlinburg is one of the most beautiful places I've seen thus far (and I haven't seen much). I was ridiculously eager to drive down to Tennessee, risking my classic 95' Mercedes, and once I found myself at the gate to my cabin it all went down hill from there (literally). Upon arrival I had no clue what the name of the cabin was so the security guard continuously repeated the phrase "what's the name, what's the name" until I called and asked. *annoyed* He was super extra and I wanted to reach through his "top flight security of the world" station and knock him the f**k out.
Once I finally got through we (Trey & I) realized that my car probably wasn't going to make it up a 36 degree hill. It was crazy steep! As we worked our way up we hadn't rolled back...yet. Swerving through the slick, wet roads we came up on a SHARP left that made my car spin out of control. It was pretty scary and I knew death was emanate.
Since this was a couple's retreat we tried things as couples...sort of. First on our itinerary was hiking. We drove to Gatlinburg National Park thinking we would hike but ended up in "peak szn" traffic for 2 1/2 on less than a quarter tank. Now, I would never put myself in this situation but, I wasn't driving and it wasn't my car. I fell asleep and woke up t find I was still in traffic on a mountain *fml*
Once we finally decided to stop (or when traffic said we could) we pulled over for our casual photo shoot. 4500 ft altitude and 59 degrees of fun! I had some great photos thanks to BAE 😘.
The hike didn't ruin my trip but it was a lesson learned.
Lesson Learned: NEVER TRY TO DRIVE TO THE TOP OF A MOUNTAIN DURING PEAK SEASON. YOU'LL DIE.
Anyways, we walked the strip, enjoyed some tourist attractions and had a fun weekend getaway.
I now know I need to invest in a drone for better pictures, be on the look out.
